Deformed frogs have been found in Minnesota and in other parts of the country. They were being studied by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and other government agencies to determine the cause of the deformities.

North American Reporting Center for Amphibian Malformations
The mission of the North American Reporting Center for Amphibian Malformations, administered by the federal government under the U.S. Geological Survey, is to facilitate the transfer of information on malformed amphibians. By compiling information from both the public and the scientific community, we hope to convey an accurate account of this phenomenon and accelerate its investigation. The Reporting Center is also designed to encourage further collaboration among scientists working to understand the cause(s) of amphibian malformations in the wild. The NARCAM web site has the following sections and subsections: Introduction to the Malformed Amphibian Issue and NARCAM. Where Have Malformations Been Reported? What Do the Malformations Look Like? Know Before You Go: Tips on how to perform a successful survey for malformed amphibians. Technical Information and Aids for Conducting Surveys.
